4 <br />o Goal #1: Continue development and maintenance of recreational activities <br />that serve the identified needs of the community and people of all ages, <br />including, where possible, neighborhood parks, larger multi-use area parks <br />and the regional park. <br />o Goal #3: Develop, maintain, and connect the current and proposed trails in <br />the City of Lino Lakes and Rice Creek Regional Park in a manner that <br />preserves and sustains the natural environment. <br /> <br />• Natural Resources and Amenities <br />o Goal #1: Identify, protect and preserve the desirable natural areas and <br />ecological and aquatic resources of the community. <br />o Goal #2: Initiate and continue vigorous collaborations and programs to <br />address, restore, and preserve the water quality of the region’s lakes, <br />wetlands and other aquatic assets. <br /> <br />• Land Use Policies <br />o Goal #1: Ensure that well-planned, quality residential, commercial, <br />industrial and institutional development to accommodate the city’s <br />projected growth needs occurs in a manner that also conserves and <br />enhances the city’s natural resources and amenities. <br /> <br />The Resource Management System Plan identifies the following needs in the area: <br /> <br />• Future neighborhood park <br />• Proposed designated bike route <br />• Trails <br />• Greenway system connectivity <br /> <br />The development addresses the required elements of a neighborhood park, trails and <br />greenway system. <br /> <br />A 5 acre public park with a 5,000 s.f recreational center is centrally located within the <br />development. The center includes a full sized exercise room, office space, kitchen area <br />and large meeting area, restrooms and outdoor patio. The facility will be used by <br />Watermark residents and will be HOA maintained and operated. The private park in the <br />townhouse development will have a tot lot. A private park in the northeast section of the <br />development will provide for open space and passive recreation. The private parks will <br />also be HOA maintained. A 2 mile network of public trails will be constructed through <br />the development and along CSAH 54 which is a designated bike route. <br /> <br />Watermark will create a multi-functional greenway corridor by integrating the <br />stormwater conveyance system, wetland management and open space areas and trails into <br />one unified system. <br /> <br /> <br />
