CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 1D <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Lisa Hogstad-Osterhues, Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: June 13, 2016 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 16-36, Authorizing issuance <br /> of a Special Event Permit for the F & M Bank <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />City Code Chapter 615 are the City’s regulations regarding special events. The purpose of <br />these regulations is to ensure that public events in the City are conducted with sufficient <br />consideration given to public safety issues and to understand the need for city services. The <br />City charges a fee of $50 for special event permits. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The City has received an application from Kelly Olesen, Branch Manager for F & M Bank. <br />They would like to hold a “Lunch With Us” celebration on June 21, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. to <br />1:00 p.m. The event will be held in the bank parking lot. This a free event and is open to the <br />public. <br /> <br />The event will include tables, chairs and two tents that will be installed by a party rental <br />company. Food and non-alcoholic prepackaged drinks that will be served and prepared by the <br />Vadnais Heights Lions Club. The Lions Club will contact Anoka County Environmental <br />Services for a food permit. <br /> <br />F & M Bank has submitted a plan indicating where the tent will be set up. The plan has been <br />reviewed and approved by staff, including the Public Service Department. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />F & M Bank’s application for a special event permit meets the requirements of the city code <br />and has not been found to present any safety concerns. Therefore, staff recommends that the <br />council approve’s Resolution No. 16-36, Authorizing issuance of a Special Event Permit for F <br />& M Bank. <br />
