Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />49 <br />50 ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />51 <br />52 Administrator Karlson noted the request for first reading of an ordinance that would amend the city <br />53 code relative to city advisory boards. The council indicated interest in increasing the quarterly <br />54 stipend for advisory board members and the ordinance provides for an increase of $25 per meeting. <br />55 Council Member Rafferty recognized the important work of the city's advisory boards. <br />56 <br />57 Council Member Rafferty moved to approve the first reading of Ordinance No. 11-16, as presented. <br />58 Council Member Maher seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />59 <br />60 PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />61 <br />62 There was no report from the Public Safety Department. <br />63 <br />64 PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />65 <br />66 There was no report from the Public Services Department. <br />67 <br />68 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />69 <br />70 6A) Lino Lakes Elementary School Renovation, Resolution No. 16436 - City Planner reviewed <br />71 the location of the project and proposal for renovations. Staff has fully reviewed the proposal and <br />72 did request certain revisions that have been accommodated. This action requests an amendment to <br />73 the conditional use permit for the property. She noted that the regulations impacting the proposed <br />74 project and requiring this consideration were passed since the current development was built. She <br />75 showed the proposed facade that will be modernized, reviewed additional agreements that will be <br />76 forthcoming, and the Planning and Zoning Board recommendation for approval. She requested that <br />77 the council add to the resolution language regarding extending the crosswalk in the parking lot to <br />78 connect to Main Street. <br />79 <br />80 Council Member Kusterman moved to approve Resolution 16-136 with addition of language recommended <br />81 by staff. Council Member Manthey seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />82 <br />83 613) Resolution No. 16452, Approving a Variance for 1558 Meadowview Court for a Porch <br />84 Addition — City Planner Larsen reviewed the location of the property and the contractor's work on it. <br />85 The porch is constructed but ended up with an encroachment issue on the rear yard setback. The <br />86 option other than to grant a variance would be to require removal of the porch. Both staff and the <br />87 Planning and Zoning Board recommend approval of the variance. <br />88 <br />89 The mayor noted that typically the city council does not grant variances but he sees that this involves <br />90 a specific situation.
