Agenda Item #5 <br /> <br />ONE VISION. ONE MISSION. LINO LAKES PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT. <br /> <br />this case for the DEA and is playing a vital role in the successful prosecution of <br />this case. <br />• Lino Lakes TFO is a co-case agent involving an international counterfeit <br />prescription pill operation. Lino Lakes TFO attended a meeting in Washington DC <br />at the DEA Special Operations Division regarding this case. A case in Lino Lakes <br />involved a male distributing these same pills. This investigation is ongoing. <br />• Assisted DEA agents with an operation to pick up drug proceeds in the <br />Minneapolis area. This investigation yielded over $230,000.00 in U.S Currency <br />that was bound for the U.S./Mexico border. <br />• Assisted in a prescription pill case that was being diverted involving residents <br />and physicians in Lino Lakes. <br />• Lino Lakes TFO assisted with the seizure of a vehicle loaded with over 55 pounds <br />of methamphetamine. <br />• Assisted in the investigation of 3 individuals that were arrested in Lino Lakes who <br />had a significant amount of methamphetamine. <br />• Assisted the Anoka/Hennepin Drug Task Force with seizing over 130 pounds of <br />methamphetamine from a house in the northern suburbs. The individual that <br />was picking up narcotics from this house was one of the major suppliers of <br />methamphetamine to the Anoka County area. Also, related to this search <br />warrant, over $130,000.00 in U.S. currency was seized along with several <br />vehicles and a mobile home. <br />• Group 71 conducted an investigation into a cocaine dealer in the Twin Cities area <br />which yielded a seizure of approximately 5 pounds of cocaine and over <br />$40,000.00. <br />• Participated in a joint DEA and Anoka/Hennepin Drug Task Force investigation <br />into a heroin distributor. The investigation involved multiple controlled buys and <br />surveillance. This investigation resulted in the successful prosecution of several <br />members of a Chicago based heroin trafficking organization that was supplying <br />the Twin Cities area. <br />• Conducted an investigation into a multi-state, international drug trafficking <br />organization importing, transporting, and distributing hundreds of pounds of <br />methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin. Four individuals were indicted in <br />Minnesota with two pleading guilty.
