CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 16-88 <br />APPROVING A SPECIAL EVENT AND PARADE/RUN PERMIT FOR BLUE HERON <br />DAYS, AUGUST 19-20-21, 2016 <br />WHEREAS, the Lino Lakes summer celebration, Blue Heron Days, is planned for the weekend <br />of August 19-20-21, 2016; and <br />WHEREAS, events scheduled for this year's festival include a 5K Run, Kids Fun Run, a grand <br />day parade on Lake Drive, city ambassador program with coronation ceremony, American <br />Legion softball tournament at Sunrise Park, a petting zoo, Magic Bounce inflatables, a business <br />expo, kiddie carnival, family movie night, live music, free henna tattoos, free caricature drawings <br />and free comfort yoga. Many of the activities for this year's festival will occur in the city's own <br />Lino Park. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes is sponsoring many festival events and has submitted an <br />application for a special event and parade permit in conjunction with all the events; <br />WHEREAS, said permit applications were reviewed for compliance with the City of Lino Lakes <br />Code of Ordinances and for safety considerations by city administration, police, fire and public <br />works divisions; and <br />WHEREAS, Anoka County has approved a special roadway use permit to allow for parade <br />activities on Lake Drive on August 20, 2016 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes, <br />Minnesota: <br />That the City Council hereby approves the special event and parade/run applications for the 2016 <br />Blue Heron Days festival subject to ongoing efforts to ensure proper safety, signage and related <br />issues. <br />Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 8th day of August, 2016. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member <br />Rafferty and was duly seconded by Council Member Manthey and upon vote being <br />taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Rafferty, Manthey, Maher, Kusterm <br />The following voted against same: <br />none <br />ATTEST: <br />�`1 0 <br />Julia <br />Bartell, City le <br />Jeff Reine . ►i a or <br />
