CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 16-171 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING LED RETROFIT PROJECT FOR CIVIC COMPLEX <br />WHEREAS, The Lino Lakes Public Services Department is requesting City Council approval <br />to convert all interior lighting fixtures at the Civic Complex, excluding the Council Chambers, <br />from fluorescent lighting to LED (Light -emitting diode) lighting; and <br />WHEREAS, There are many advantages of LED vs. fluorescent lighting including more energy <br />efficient, longer lifetime, less maintenance, more durable, excellent color rendering, and more <br />environmentally friendly; and <br />WHEREAS, The project quote prepared by Meridian Energy Products is $33,736. X -Cel Energy <br />is providing $10,236 in rebates, resulting in a net total project cost of $23,500; and <br />WHEREAS, Funding is available from the Building Facilities Fund. With estimated annual <br />energy savings of $7,057, the projected pay back is 34 months. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes that <br />the Public Services Director is authorized to enter into an agreement with Meridian Energy <br />Products for the LED Retrofit Project for the Civic Complex. <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 12" day of December 2016. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member <br />Manthey and was duly seconded by Council Member Kustermarnd upon vote being <br />taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Manthey, Kusterman, Rafferty, Maher, Reinert <br />The following voted against same: <br />none <br />ATTEST: <br />,V <br />eBartell, City lerk <br />
