CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 16-171 RESOLUTION APPROVING LED RETROFIT PROJECT FOR CIVIC COMPLEX WHEREAS, The Lino Lakes Public Services Department is requesting City Council approval to convert all interior lighting fixtures at the Civic Complex, excluding the Council Chambers, from fluorescent lighting to LED (Light -emitting diode) lighting; and WHEREAS, There are many advantages of LED vs. fluorescent lighting including more energy efficient, longer lifetime, less maintenance, more durable, excellent color rendering, and more environmentally friendly; and WHEREAS, The project quote prepared by Meridian Energy Products is $33,736. X -Cel Energy is providing $10,236 in rebates, resulting in a net total project cost of $23,500; and WHEREAS, Funding is available from the Building Facilities Fund. With estimated annual energy savings of $7,057, the projected pay back is 34 months. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes that the Public Services Director is authorized to enter into an agreement with Meridian Energy Products for the LED Retrofit Project for the Civic Complex. Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 12" day of December 2016.
