City of Lino Lakes <br />Park Board Meeting <br />Monday, November 6, 1995 <br />The November 6, 1995, City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was <br />called to order at 6:34pm by George Lindy, Chair. <br />a. <br />Roll call was taken, members present were George Lindy, Ken Johnson, <br />Betty Piper, Pam Taschuk, Joe Schmidt, and Amy Donlin. Also present <br />were Marty Asleson, Park Recreation, and Forestry Coordinator, Barry <br />Bernstein, Recreation Program Supervisor, and Sandie Wood, Recording <br />Secretary. Sharon Lane was absent. <br />APPROVAL OF SEPTEMBER 20, 1995 AND OCTOBER 2, 1995 MINUTES: <br />Pam Taschuk made a motion to approve the September 20 and October 2, <br />1995 minutes. Ken Johnson seconded the motion and the minutes were <br />approved as written. <br />OPEN MIKE: <br />There was no one present for open mike. <br />UPDATES AND OLD BUSINESS: <br />Pheasant Hills Playground: Marty passed out a plan of the park for <br />the board members to see. He went on to say that the contractor <br />donated $25,000 to develop this park. A playground plan structure <br />design has been developed by Flanagan Sales of Iron Mountain Forge <br />for the site designated in the masterplan. The budget set by the <br />developer was $15,000. <br />Marty said the purpose of this report is to review the concept plan <br />for this playground structure. Upon approval, it should then be <br />forwarded to the Friends and the Lino Lakes City Council. <br />There was discussion on the kids tile and Marty said they were ADA <br />accessible and were consumer product approved. George asked if the <br />one piece rubber mat was expensive. Marty responded that it was 3-4 <br />times more expensive than anything else. He said someone would have <br />to be hired to lay it. <br />Joe asked if there had been money allotted for pea rock. Marty said <br />no, but he thought there might be enough left in storage for this <br />park. <br />RECOMMENDATION: George Lindy made a recommendation to approve the <br />playground concept plan, as designed, contingent upon the approval of <br />the neighborhood group. <br />
