City of Lino Lakes <br />Park Board Meeting <br />Monday, November 6, 1995 <br />up the park. The parking lot has been moved also. He said the costs <br />are running very close to what was budgeted for this park. Seeding <br />will not be done this year. There are several stumps that will have <br />to be removed. <br />City Hall Park - The fencing material is being put in and the gates <br />need to be installed. Marty said he is pretty much on budget for the <br />project. He went over the figures spent on the hockey rink and the <br />building. <br />Wenzel Farms - Marty reported the park has been master planned. The <br />volleyball courts and benches will be put in next year. The <br />neighborhood has to paint the basketball court next spring too. <br />Trails - George said the paving job looks very good and the -trail <br />system is becoming much more complete. <br />Marty said the Reshenau Park neighborhood group had a meeting and <br />they will be doing some fundraising to put $1000 towards the first <br />part of the trail system. The group discussed the cost to pave <br />trails in the area to the east. Their biggest focus was safety for <br />the children and they did not want them to be walking in the ditch <br />area. <br />There was also discussion about mowing and the drainage problem in <br />this area. Marty commented that he would like to drain tile it next <br />year. <br />1996 Goals and Priorities - George talked about the 1996 goal and <br />priorities and said he would like to place a cost estimate on each <br />goal. The board talked about the dollar amount they should leave in <br />the dedicated park fund as a surplus. <br />Marty then discussed what was spent in 1994 and 1995. He said there <br />was approximately $150,000 left in the account. Marty talked about <br />what has been put aside for some parks and what needs to be done in <br />the future. He said playground equipment repair/replacement is going <br />to have to be done in the future. He also asked the Park Board <br />Members to keep in mind the 1996/1997 priorities and to look at <br />future land needs when leaving a balance in the fund. <br />George asked if there was going to need to be any property <br />acquisition to complete the dead-end trails. Marty said there was an <br />easement in Wenzel Farms. He says it belongs to the association and <br />he didn't think they would charge anything for the easement. He <br />6 <br />
