AGENDA ITEM NO. 13A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR Marilyn Anderson, Clerk- Treasurer <br />DATE January lg 1996 <br />TOPIC Consideration of an Application for <br />Authorization for an Exemption from <br />Lawful Gambling License for St. Joseph <br />Catholic Church <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Minnesota gambling statutes allow non-profit organizations who conduct <br />fewer than five (5) gambling occasions per year to apply for an exemption <br />from securing a gambling license. St. Joseph Catholic Church conduce <br />three (3) gambling occasions (bingo) each year, therefore, a gambling <br />license is not required. <br />OPTIONS <br />1. Adopt a motion approving the application for exemption. <br />2. Return to staff for further information. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Option No. 1 <br />
