The next step in this process is for the City of Lino Lakes to make
a determination as to whether or not an EIS is required based on
the feedback received from the various agencies. Should the City
make a negative declaration in regard to the EIS, no further action
is required. Should the City make a positive declaration, an
Environmental Impact Statement would be required. The typical time
frame for an EIS is nine months to one year. The EIS would include
a detailed analysis of any and all issues raised as a result of the
EAW.
Based on the information received from the various agencies
contacted and the City's knowledge of the proposed project site,
Staff would recommend a negative declaration in regard to an EIS
for the Centennial Middle School Project.
OPTIONS
1. Adopt Resolution No. 96-44 NEGATIVE DECLARATION OF NEED FOR
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT (EIS) FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW
CENTENNIAL MIDDLE SCHOOL - ELM STREET
2. Postpone decision on EAW for 30 days to obtain additional
information.
RECOMMENDATION
Option 1
