City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
Monday, December 4,
be written so it is
yes.
1995
advantageous for both parties. He responded
Marty talked about a letter he received from Jeff Schoenbauer.
Marty thought Michael Krech would be able to help do the base
mapping. If he could this would lower the cost to do the master
plan.
Joe asked if the city had land in the area now. Marty responded
that there was a mini park to the east. (About 3 acres) Joe
wanted to know if the city owned any land in the school district
area. Marty responded no, it all belongs to the school district.
He explained this was a new item for discussion purposes and he
will put it on the agenda each month so the Park Board knows what
is taking place. Mart also said he thought this would be a
project for the 1997 Park Board Goals/Priorities.
Marty recommended following this through the planning process.
He thought a sketch plan should be drawn, inexpensively in house,
sit down with the school district to get their thoughts, and then
get in touch with the neighborhood residents to see what they
want.
Donation Reshanau Estates Walking Path: Marty explained the
Reshanau Lakes Homeowners Association sent a letter to him
approving a donation of $1000 for the installation of the trail
segment missing from Birchwood Acres to Fawn Lane.
Marty asked how much of the trail the donation would pay for.
Marty responded about half the cost of the one segment.
Sharon wanted to know if the Friends of the Parks would do a
matching donation. Marty did not think they would because he
didn't think they had the money to match it right now.
Correction Facility Letter: Pam read the letter of apology that
the City of Lino Lakes received from a juvenile involved in a
vandalism incident at Sunrise Park this summer.
Members wanted to know the age and sex of offenders and how many
times this had happened.
Barry told the board the number of staff hours it took to repair
the damages done to the building. It was really an inconvenience
to the city.
11
