AGENDA ITEM 5 41 K <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR Mary Kay Wyland <br />DATE June 20, 1996 <br />TOPIC ANIMAL ORDINANCE, First Reading <br />The attached document incorporates the changes recommended by the <br />Council to the proposed Animal Ordinance. Some of the highlights <br />include: <br />1. Maximum number of dogs allowed is two (2) <br />2. Private kennels permitted in any zoning district upon five <br />(5) acres of land or more with a conditional use permit. <br />3. Limit of four (4) dogs per private kennel. Kennel to be <br />located 100' from any property line or in the middle of the <br />parcel of property, whichever is greater. <br />4. No reference to cats or licensing of same. <br />5. Incorporates provisions for "Wild and/or dangerous animals" <br />6. Feces disposal and leash requirements for dogs. <br />7. Provisions to enhance police enforcement of the ordinance. <br />1.
