Chapter 349 State Gaming Regulations Bingo, Gambling Devices and Video Games of <br />Chance 349.12 Subdivision 11 a. Lawful Purposes as it pertains to the North <br />Suburban Consumer Advocates for the Handicapped (NSCAH Inc.) Programs. <br />1. Benefiting disabled persons by enhancing their opportunity for educational <br />advancement as well as that of the public. <br />a. Learning about their "Rights" for disabled. <br />b. Educating for Accessibility: <br />to buildings and program educational institutions <br />to transportation <br />to housing <br />to employment <br />to parking <br />c. Education of public and persons with disabilities by: <br />1. Utilizing Speakers Bureau -Presentations to schools, churches, <br />public and private organizations. <br />2- Utilizing school disability awareness instructors -Coordinator <br />to work with 4th grade students regarding disability attitude <br />awareness. <br />d. Production of Newsletter, Brochures and flyers for and by persons <br />with disabilities -Education and information. <br />e. Scholarships for disabled graduating high school students. <br />f. Organizing Disability Awareness Days. <br />g. Subscriptions to disability related literature. <br />h. Coalesce with other organizations regarding disability issues. <br />2_ Assisting persons with disabilities to establish themselves in life as <br />worthy and useful citizens. <br />a. Provide opportunity for leadership in the organization which <br />lead to leadership in the community. <br />b. Provide opportunity to make presentation through Speakers Bureau. <br />c. Information and referral service (I & R) provided for the disabled <br />and those concerned about them. <br />d. Identification Find and other surveys to locate persons with <br />disabilities and ascertain their needs and then encourage their <br />involvement with NSCAH and offering of assistance to those <br />identified. <br />e. Social recreation services in the main stream and specific <br />social/recreational opportunities for disabled persons. <br />f. Advocate for social changes in society allowing for greater <br />independence and self-sufficiency for persons with disabilities <br />
