He noted that when Alexandra House was closer to Lino <br />Lakes, the Lions Club did help with some funding. <br />Ms. Moore explained since Alexandra House is funded to serve only <br />the communities listed by Ms. Prinzevalle, additional funding <br />would be needed to offer intervention services to Lino Lakes. <br />Ms. Moore explained that Alexandra House works closely with the <br />Police Department and prosecuting attorneys in cases where there <br />has been an arrest or a citation issued. She also explained that <br />Alexandra House works with the victim to help them through the <br />criminal court process as well as providing them information <br />about other legal options. <br />Mayor Reinert asked if Lino Lakes had been served with <br />intervention services in the past. Ms. Moore explained that Lino <br />Lakes has been provided services such as shelter service, some <br />community advocacy services like filing orders for protection. <br />Ms. Prinzevalle explained that emergency and non -emergency <br />serviced 32 women and children in the City of Lino Lakes in 1994. <br />Mayor Reinert thanked Ms. Moore and Ms. Prinzevalle for their <br />presentation. <br />Mr. Schumacher explained that the Community Emergency Assistance <br />Program has also made a request for $1,000.00.00. Their <br />representative called and explained that due to illness they <br />would not have anyone at this meeting. They have provided <br />written material for the City Council to review. <br />Council Member Elliott moved to close the public hearing at 7:12 <br />P.M. Council Member Bergeson seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />The City Council will consider the requests for CDBG funding and <br />take action at a future meeting. All organizations requesting <br />funding will be notified by letter of the action taken by the <br />City Council. <br />CONSIDERATION OF PROMOTION TO THE POLICE SERGEANTS POSITIONS, <br />CHIEF DAVID PECCHIA <br />Chief Pecchia explained that the Lino Lakes Police Department is <br />currently without a sergeant creating an increasing workload for <br />himself even though as many issues as possible are being <br />delegated to employees in the Department. The appointment of two <br />(2) sergeants would allow greater supervisory coverage for the <br />patrol shift with the sergeants working a combination night power <br />shift (7:00 P.M. to 3:00 A.M.) and a day power/night power shift <br />PAGE 7 <br />
