5. Withold final juisvgement until reasonable efforts have
beenn made to resolve all conflicts.
6. Avoid expensive lawsuits by entering mediation.
Mayor Reinert has said many times that developers are
guests in our city mind are not the driving force behing the
tack that our city takes. Sometimes it looks like the developers
still run the show. Case in point, the Trappers Agin Proposal
which is on your agenda tonight. I think situations like this
could have been avoided if reasonable, good -faith notification
methods were enacted- not just a vhgue notice in the paper
that may or may not be noticed and if it happens to get noticed,
would it be in plain english and clearly stated? This kind of
decision must include the real people involved- peoples' lives
are at stake- their quality of life, their vii ues and their
neighborhoods could be devhstated by a decision made to appease
a single developer's wishes.
We hope that your decision tonight
will be fair to all parties involved.
And that you consider
some of the guidelines that I have outlined tonight.
