City of Lino Lakes Park Board Meeting February 5, 1996 The February 5, 1996, City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was called to order at 6:35pm by George Lindy, Chair. Roll call was taken, members present were George Lindy, Ken Johnson, Pam Taschuk, Joe Schmidt, Amy Donlin, Betty Piper and Sharon Lane. Also present were Marty Asleson, Park, Recreation, and Forestry Coordinator, Barry Bernstein, Rec- reation Program Supervisor, and Sandie Wood, Recording Sec- retary. APPROVAL OF DECEMBER 4, 1995 MINUTES: George said there were three areas in the minutes he would like to discuss and amend. On Page 3 the minutes read he met with Tom Wilharbor,...they should have read "he spoke with Tom Wilharbor". In the last sentence of this paragraph the word prohibited should read "prohibitive". The second change was on Page 8, the paragraph under trail was incorrect. The board did talk about the land acquisi- tion in Wenzel Farms but they did not attach a figure to the acquisition. "The Board decided to delete the whole para- graph." The third change was on Page 8, Item 4. The last sentence was incorrectly put in the minutes. "Delete from However, to present time. Ken 'Johnson made a motion to approve the December 4, 1995 minutes as amended. Sharon Lane seconded the motion and the minutes were approved as amended. OPEN MIKE: There was no one present for open mike. AWARDS PRESENTATION: Marty explained the awards being given this evening were to people who volunteered their time to participated in the Lino Lakes Adopt -A -Park program. The first presentation was to Jean Briggs, Diane Maus, and Girl Scout Troop 834. Marty said this is the first group that participated in the Adopt -A -Park Program. They as well as all Adopt -A -Park participants enter into a contract with the city to different things such as plant and take care of 1
