QUAD CITY AREA EARTH DAY <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, Anoka County, the Cities of, Lino Lakes, Circle <br />Pines, Centerville, and Lexington prides themselves on the quality <br />of life for residents and businesses and is interested in working <br />to improve and maintain the beauty of the areas; and, <br />WHEREAS, residents should be encouraged to recognize the <br />environmental impact on our communities in their daily lives by <br />becoming environmentally responsible consumers, conserving energy, <br />increasing recycling efforts, reducing waste, and promoting <br />environmental responsibility in our communities; and, <br />WHEREAS, this goal was aided by volunteers of the cities who <br />during Earth Days in past years have collected tons of debris in <br />Lino Lake, Circle Pines, Lexington and Centerville; planted flower <br />beds, initiated other spruce up activities in parks and on trails; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, these efforts show the long term commitment by <br />individuals and groups in Anoka County to building a safe, just and <br />substantial planet; and; <br />WHEREAS, groups of community leaders will work in conjunction <br />with Anoka County Commissioner Margaret Langfeld's Adopt -A -Highway <br />project to organize a clean-up and beautification project along <br />roads in Eastern Anoka County; and, <br />WHEREAS, this community group needs support and volunteers to <br />successfully complete its projects: <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT I, JOHN LANDERS, MAYOR OF <br />THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM APRIL 20, 1995 TO BE <br />EARTH DAY AND SUPPORT THOSE ORGANIZERS AND VOLUNTEERS IN ITS <br />EFFORTS TO CLEAN UP AND BEAUTIFY AREAS IN THE CITIES OF LINO LAKES, <br />CIRCLE PINES, LEXINGTON AND C ENTERVIT LJ <br />Mayor, John Landers <br />Ref:eroc <br />
