Ms. Divine stated the city tax rate has been dropping. Last year the city ranked <br />seventh, and this year it was ninth. <br /> <br />Objective 1: Delete “2005” and “draft” and add “and any updates or revisions <br />made thereto.” <br /> <br />Objective 3: remove “draft.” <br /> <br />Mr. Milbauer moved to approve the changes. Mr. Corson seconded. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Goal 2: Continue a strong and innovative patter for growth of quality economic <br />development. <br /> <br />Objective 5: Mr. Vacha stated it was an improvement for developers that if a <br />project meets the zoning requirements and needs no variances or CUPs, it can go <br />through “administrative review.” Objective 6 will be added “to support the <br />continuation of the administrative review process to streamline the planning <br />process for development proposals.” <br /> <br />Members discussed the negative voting record of the expansion of the economic <br />development base in the city and its impact on the city’s reputation. Change <br />language to “Strive to attain an areawide reputation for being receptive to new <br />quality economic development.” <br /> <br />Policy recommendation: Eliminate because it has been completed. <br /> <br />Mr. Milbauer moved to make the changes. Mr. Comb seconded. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Goal 3: Provide continuous and effective coordination and facilitation of the economic <br />development process. <br /> <br />Objective 2: Change to “Review changes to comprehensive zoning ordinances <br />that are developed and/or proposed to be developed” to reflect the changing <br />quality of commercial and industrial development. <br /> <br />Mr. Milbauer moved to approve the change. Ms. Hansmann seconded. Motion passed <br />unanimously.
