CLOSED COUNCIL MEETING JUNE 12, 1995
CITY OF LINO LAKES
COUNCIL MINUTES
DATE
TIME STARTED
TIME ENDED.!:
MEMBERS PRESENT:
MEMBERS ABSENT
June 12, 1995
7:45 P.M.
7:58 P.M.
Reinert, Neal, Elliott
Kuether
a A
Bergeson
Staff members present: City Administrator, Randy Schumacher and
Clerk -Treasurer Marilyn Anderson.
The purpose of the closed meeting was to discuss the labor
negotiations for Local #49.
Mr. Schumacher gave each Council Member a cost breakdown of the
salary and benefit requests by the Union. The proposed contract
is for three (3) years. He noted that if the salary requests are
approved, there will be an adjustment in one of the Pay Equity
Plan categories. Otherwise the proposed salary is within the Pay
Equity Plan.
Council Member Bergeson noted that only four (4) of the employees
are covered by health insurance offered by the City. Mr.
Schumacher explained that some employees choose to participate in
their spouses health insurance. However, this could change at
any time.
Mr. Schumacher explained that the current proposal would create
two (2) lead worker positions and a pay increase of 3.5% for
1995. He noted that all current requests would add about
$50,000.00 to the budget over the three (3) years covered by the
contract. Mr. Schumacher explained several other sections of the
proposed contract.
After further discussion, Mr. Schumacher was asked to take the
proposal to the Union for ratification by the Union Members.
After ratification, the contract proposal will be taken to the
City Council for final action.
The closed session ended at 7:58 P.M.
PAGE 1
