CENTENNIAL FIRE DISTRICT 1997 BUDGET Changes from 1996 Budget: 5030 Fire Calls: 5035 Rescue Calls: This account is the payroll account for the firefighters when they are responding to fire calls. The amount budgeted in 1996 was too high after reviewing our past history. This account is the payroll account for the firefighters to medical type calls. Medical calls represent 58% of our emergency calls. History indicates that this account needed to be raised for 1997. 5045 Maintenance Drills: This is the payroll account for the firefighters doing maintenance on the buildings and equipment. This account was reduced in 1996 by 2000 and history has indicated that the amount should be increased by $1,000 for 1997. 5050 Inspection Wages: This is the payroll account which is used when the inspections of the businesses are being conducted. We are inspecting more commerical property each year. 5060 Vehicle Maintenance: This account represents the cost of maintenance for the vehicle used by the fire district. This account continues to be reduced because of the fact we now have newer vehicles. 5310 Insurance: Insurance costs have been lowered because of improved workman's compensation rates. 5312 Medical Physicals: The physicals did not cost us as much as we planned for 1996. Medical physicals is an ongoing program for the firefighters. 5350 Office Supplies: We are using more office supplies than we planned in 1996. 5380 Telephone: 5400 Salaried Positions: Depreciation: This covers the cost of all the phones in three stations. Included is a leased line for each station which is connected to Anoka County dispatch center. History has shown us we need to increase this amount. This account represents the salaries paid to the officer's of the fire district. These salaries are for management responsibilities over and above fire and medical calls. We want to have a small increase in these salaries. Because we have sold a vehicle that was being depreciated this amount has been taken out of the depreciation schedule.
