AGENDA ITEM 5B STAFF ORIGINATOR: David Ahrens, City Engineer/Public Works Director DATE: August 8, 1996 TOPIC: Consider Approval of Consulting Engineer Agreement for Transportation Plan, SRF Consulting Group, Inc. BACKGROUND: The City of Lino Lakes is required to update its Comprehensive Pian, which includes a transportation component, per Metropolitan Council rules. Planning for the Comprehensive Plan process has begun by the formation of a task force steering committee. Staff has interviewed and received a proposal from SRF Consulting Group, Inc., to prepare a Transportation Plan component of the Comprehensive Plan and to assist the steering committee with transportation issues or questions. The attached agreement outlines the scope of services and the basis of payment. The not -to -exceed amount for the Transportation Plan is $21,500 with additional costs for SRF attendance at meetings and public informational meetings. In addition, if the City elects to have a special area study done, it is estimated that it will cost an additional $1,000 to $3,000 per study area. It is estimated that the transportation Plan, will cost from $30,000 to $40,000 depending on the number of meetings and special area studies done, OPTIONS: 1. Return to staff for further review 2. Approve the Consulting Engineer Agreement between SRF Consulting Group, Inc. and the City of Lino Lakes. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that Council approve the Consulting Engineer Agreement between SRF Consulting Group, Inc. and the City of Lino Lakes.
