MEMO <br />TO: DAVE AHRENS <br />FROM: TOM DEWOLFE <br />DATE: NOVEMBER 18, 1996 <br />RE: TWO YEAR CONTRACT FOR CLEANING SERVICE <br />On November 15, 1996 we had bid openings for a two year cleaning service contract. We received a <br />total of ten bids. Bids for a two year contract are attached. <br />The prices highlighted are what they will be paid for the two year total amount. See the information <br />below their company name for the monthly payment for 1997 and 1998. <br />The lowest bid was #24,509.52 for two years. This would be $12,254.76 for 1997 and $12,254.76 for <br />1998. The second lowest bid was $17,349.72 higher for the total two year contract, making the seconc <br />lowest two year bid amount of $41,589.24. The second lowest monthly bids were $1,718.36 per mont <br />for 1997 and $1,769.91 per month for 1998. <br />I called the lowest bid company and they seemed to know all that is in the contract as to what is <br />furnished by the City and what is furnished by them. <br />Upon approval of the contract by the City Council, they would show or have the insurance copies for r <br />on liability requirements. I also will be getting a reference list of their present cleaning services and <br />will have the Police Department do a background check on the cleaning company. <br />Please take this to a work session for Council awareness and to the Council meeting for approval. <br />
