X001. EMERGENCIESIINCtD NT3 <br />A- MEDICAL EMERGENCIES <br />1. Evaluate the inmate and determine if there is an actual medical <br />emergen cy. <br />2. Notify communications of the situation. <br />3. Provide the appropriate level of response for the emergency. <br />a. Initiate first aid. <br />b. Arrange a meet with the local CMS service. <br />c. Transport the prisoner to the nearest medical facility for <br />treatment. <br />4. if additional security is needed, request backup from the local police <br />or the sheriff's office. <br />5 The prisoner shall remain in restraints unless removal of the <br />restraints Is necessary for treatment, <br />6. A transport officer shall remain with the prisoner at all times if the <br />prisoner is transported to a medical facility for treatment. <br />VEHICLE 5REA1«OWN <br />1. Notify communications of the breakdown. <br />e. Request that they contact the jail facility and arrange <br />additional transport. <br />b. If there will be an extended delay in transport. arrange for the <br />temporary detention of the prisoner with the local police <br />department. <br />c. Arrange a tow for the vehicle. <br />2. Remove the vehicle from traffic to a nate end secure location. <br />C. TRAFFIQ ACCIQENT - W1TNESSING/ENCOUNIE !NG <br />1. Attempt to determine the seriousness of the accident. <br />2. Notify communications of the accident. <br />3. Request response from the local police department, Sheriff's Office <br />or EMS service if applicable. <br />4, Do NOT STOP AND R5NDER ASSISTANCE unless there Is a life <br />threatening situation and you receive authorization from your <br />supervisor. <br />D. TRAFFIC ACCIDE=NT TRANSPQFT VEHICLE INVQI_VEQ <br />1. Notify communications of the accident and request assistance from <br />the local police department or Sheriff's Office. <br />2. Ensure that the prisoners ere secure. <br />3. Determine it the prisoners or occupants of the other vehicle are <br />injured. <br />a, Request EMS assistance if necessary. <br />4, Prisoners In the vehicle must be examined and cleared by a medical <br />facility prior to continuation of the transport to the jail facility even 11 <br />no ane Is complaining of Injury <br />5. If the transport vehicle is inoperable. <br />a.
