XVIII. TRANSPORTS OF PRISONERS OF THE QPP(JTE sEX <br />A. One of the transport officers should be on the same sex as the prisoner(s) <br />when possible. <br />B. When transporting a prisoner of the opposite sex, the transporting officer <br />shall notify dispatch of the following information: <br />1. Starting location and destination of the transport <br />2. Starting miliage within 1/10 of a mile. <br />G. When the transport is complete, the transporting officer shall notify dispatch <br />of the fallowing information: <br />1. Ending location of the transport. <br />2. Ending miliage within 1/10 of a mile. <br />XIX. USE OF RESTRAINTS <br />A. All prisoners being transported shall be handcuffed. <br />1. Handcuffs should be applied tight enough to restrict movement, but <br />not so light that the cause Injury. <br />2 Handcuffs will be double locked. <br />B. Additional restraints may be necessary if the person is combative or an <br />escape risk. <br />1. Approved additional restraints include: <br />a Shackles <br />b_ A waistchain <br />. Flexcuffs <br />d. Nobble restraints <br />C. Injured inmates shall be restrained in such a manner that It ensures the <br />safety of the transport officers yet does not cause further injury to the <br />inmate. <br />XX_ L EQF FQRGE <br />A. Follow your departments use of force policy. <br />B. Use the minimum amount of lorce necessary to restrain the prisoner. <br />G. Document any use of force on the provided use of force form and forward <br />a copy to the Sheriff's Office. <br />XXI. COMBATIVE/MIT QF CONTROL PRISONER <br />A. Use the minimum amount of force necessary to restrain the prisoner. <br />8.
