<br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6B <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee, City Engineer <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: April 10, 2017 <br /> <br />TOPIC : Consider Resolution No. 17-27, Accepting bids, Awarding a <br />Construction Contract, and Approving Construction Services <br />Contract with WSB and Associates, 2017 Mill and Overlay <br />Project <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting council authorization to accept bids, award construction contract, and <br />approving construction services contract with WSB and Associates for the 2017 Mill and <br />Overlay Project contract. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The 2017 Mill and Overlay Project includes the following: <br /> <br />• Base Bid – SCHEDULE A (MILL AND OVERLAY) <br />Construction includes Mill and Overlay and Storm Sewer Improvements to 2nd Avenue <br />from Lake Street to Elm Street, Glenview Avenue and Parkview Drive from 2nd Avenue <br />to Glenview Lane, and Elm Street from Lake Drive to Grey Heron Drive. <br />• Base Bid – B (SEAL COAT) <br />Construction includes Bituminous Sealcoat public streets within the subdivisions of <br />Pine Glen, Marshan Meadows and Grandview, Foxborough, Vaughan Addition, <br />Oakwood View and Woodridge Estates. <br />• Alternate – 1 (MILL AND OVERLAY – GLENVIEW LANE) <br />Construction includes Mill and Overlay Improvements to Glenview Lane from <br />Glenview Drive Glenview Avenue. <br />• Alternate – 2 (TEXAS UNDERSEAL – 2ND AVENUE) <br />Construction includes application of a bituminous sealcoat prior to the bituminous <br />overlay of 2nd Avenue to reduce reflective cracking. <br /> <br />Bids were received for the above-referenced project on Thursday, March 30, 2017. A total of <br />seven bids were received. The bids were checked for mathematical accuracy and tabulated. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
