Review Regular Council Agenda of May 22, 2017 - 15 <br /> 16 <br />Consent Agenda – Council Member Rafferty followed up on his previous question about 17 <br />the lift station and his request to receive additional information on cost, life span, etc. 18 <br />Administrator Karlson said he would follow up. 19 <br /> 20 <br />3A) Consider Resolution No. 17-44, Approving Joint Powers Agreement between 21 <br />the City of Lino Lakes and County of Anoka for Assessment of Property – 22 <br />Administrator Karlson reported that this agreement was last updated in 2012 for five 23 <br />years. At that time the council asked staff to look at other options (including private). 24 <br />He has investigated other possibilities. He can report that Anoka County has done a 25 <br />good job of keeping costs down (no rate increase this year). Even during the past four 26 <br />years, rates have increased minimally. Staff recommends approving this five year 27 <br />contract with Anoka County to continue their services. 28 <br /> 29 <br />The council discussed the benefit of continuing with the county. They have been good to 30 <br />work with, they are involved in the property taxation just as the city is, and they are 31 <br />commonly used by most cities. 32 <br /> 33 <br />3B) Consider Appointment of Joseph Widing to Community Development Intern 34 <br />Position – Human Resources Manager Henning reviewed the recommendation to appoint 35 <br />Mr. Widing. The council discussed the opportunities provided for the city and for the 36 <br />individual hired through an internship. 37 <br /> 38 <br />3C) Consider Appointment of Benefits Broker – Human Resources Manager 39 <br />Henning reviewed a request to appoint a new benefits broker, based on the results of a 40 <br />request for proposal. She explained the savings to the city as well as the wellness 41 <br />services that would be provided at no cost. 42 <br /> 43
