CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL WORK SESSION May 22, 2017 <br />DRAFT <br /> 2 <br />The council discussed the importance of reviewing the services and they are happy to get 44 <br />a better price. The council will be discussing the review of other contracts at the next 45 <br />work session. 46 <br /> 47 <br />3D) Consider Resolution No. 17-48, To Censure Councilmember – Mayor Reinert 48 <br />remarked that he believes all council members understand the instance that brings 49 <br />forward this resolution. He has been struggling with how to respond to the issue and the 50 <br />people who have contacted him. He doesn’t feel comfortable doing nothing. He has 51 <br />spoken with Council Member Maher about this resolution coming forward and they have 52 <br />discussed the meaning of a censure and the reason that he recommends that it be the 53 <br />council’s response. This will allow the council and its individual members to go on 54 <br />record. 55 <br /> 56 <br />Council Member Manthey noted that the resolution includes language that relates to the 57 <br />City Council’s Code of Conduct and he wonders if that reference would indicate other 58 <br />action down the road. He recommends that the resolution be amended to remove 59 <br />reference to that code.
