There was some question on <br />the flashing light as proposed by Skyline Auto Body and on the wood construct- <br />ion as proposed by Restoration Enterprise. These are to be returned to the <br />Building INspector for clarification. <br />The Clerk had prepared a proposed checklist for platting. This is to be for- <br />warded to the Council for their consideration. <br />The matter of the existing pigeon house was discussed. This matter is to be <br />turned over to Mr. Kelling. <br />Mr. Peter Scherer had submitted an application for a special use permit to <br />strip and refinish furniture in an existing building at his home on 64th St. <br />Mr. Scherer said there is no drainage and no chemical dumping. The material <br />used is bio -degradable, can be used with bare hands, there is no need to wear <br />a mask, it non-combustiable, no fans are needed and Mr. Schere said the <br />material is returned to the original containers, ship back to the seller and <br />recycled. <br />Mr. McLean asked if Mr. Scherer_has an brochures on this material? He suggest- <br />ed Mr. Scherer get some literature and present to the Council so they are <br />aware of what is being done. <br />Mr. Scherer was asked the size of the operation and_:if he would have any <br />employees and Mr. Scherer said, it is strictly a one man operation and he will <br />only be refinishing furniture he owns. <br />Mr. Scherer said there are three such operations in Saint Paul, he will get <br />information from them before the Monday night Council meeting. <br />Mr. Shearen moved to recommend approval of this special use permit subject to <br />receipt of specs on material used in the stripping process before the Council <br />meeting. Seconded by Mrs. Schwankl. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Shearen moved to adjourn at 10:57 P.M. Seconded by Mrs. Schwankl. Aye. <br />
