October 15, 1975 <br />3. <br />Mr. Houle moved to recommend to the Council that this variance to <br />Ordinance No. 56, Section 4.18 C -D be allowed providing that the <br />fence be a stockade type fence, no higher that 6 feet in height and that <br />proper air -flow be allowed for. <br />Mr. Nadeau seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Next item for discussion was Lee Trucking, Inc. This firm was represented <br />by Mr. Bruce L. Stanley, President, Mr. M. Walton, Operations Manager <br />and Mr. Olson. <br />Mr. Stanley is considering buying the Kammerer Estate on Highway 8 and <br />proposes putting in a 52 x 66 steel storage building for his semi's. <br />Lee Trucking, Inc. hauls President Homes, a pre -fab home, over the road <br />from Minneapolis. They would not be doing anything other than parking <br />trucks at this location. He, Mr. Stanley, will be building a home on the <br />rear portion of that lot, he will have an office in his home at this time <br />but may eventually move it to the storage building, should the need arise. <br />He will be building a President Home. <br />The land is zoned commercial now for the first 300' and residential/agricul- <br />ture for the rest of the area. <br />Some consideration was given to re -zoning the entire property as commercial <br />right now, but they decided that it would not be necessary at this time. <br />Mr. Karth suggested they contact the County Highway Department and get <br />information regarding access to the land and if needed they will direct <br />him to the State Highway Dept. <br />Mr. Nadeau cautioned them that they will probably be required to use a <br />dust free surface for the parking area. <br />The gentlemen were asked to have all of <br />the City Offices no later than November <br />ed to the Planner, Engineer and P&Z for <br />Meeting. They are <br />interested in purchasing the property located at Cedar Street and 135 E <br />for future location of their plant. All they are interested in right <br />now was reaction from the P&Z on the probably re -zoning of this land. <br />It is currently agricultural and the Comprehensive Land Use Plan shows <br />it moderate to low density housing in the future. <br />The members present tonight indicated that they did not feel that <br />re -zoning this area would create any problems and asked that the Clerk <br />contact Mr. Hendstrom and advise trim of this. <br />Mr. Kelling moved to adjourn at 9:30 PM. Motion seconded by Mr. Nadeau. AYE. <br />
