JUNE 18, 1975
The next item on the agenda was a Variance Request to Ordinance No. 21 A
presented by Mrs. Margaret Hammer of 765 Oak Lane, Lino Lakes.
Mrs. Hammer wants to sell a portion of her land on OaK Lane and it will
not meet the acreage requirements of the City.
Mr. Shearan asked if there were buildings presently standing on both
lots. Mrs. Hammer said that there were houses on both lots. One was
about 6 Or 7 years old and the other was about 27 years old.
After some discussion, Mr. Shearan moved to recommend to the Council
that this request for a variance be granted. Mr. Houle seconded the
motion. Motion carried.
Mr. Borgren was here to discuss the possibility of building a home
on Maple Street where he has approximately 400 x 100' of property.
It is located at the end of Maple Street.
After some discussion, Mr. Borgren was asked to contact the Planner
for his recommendations and return the the Planning and Zoning Board.
Mr. Richard Juleen's request for a Variance to Ordinance No. 21 A was
the next item for discussion. Mr. Juleen had been asked to consult
with the Planner for his recommendations on his proposed split of the
lot at 7109 Lakeview Drive, Lino Lakes, in order to build another
home on the property. Each lot would have 1 acre parcels if this variance
is granted.
The Planner made several observations regarding this property and the
main concern on the Boards part is the potential of putting is another
street on the West Side of the porposed lot if sewer and water is every
put in that area of the City. Mr. Juleen is aware of the potential
problems if the street is ever put in and is willing to accept them.
Mr. Kelling moved to grant a Variance to Ordinance 21 A to Mr. Juleen
for the splitting of this lot. The new home will have a setback of 30'
from the road with a 15' fron yard varience as requested by Mr. Juleen.
Thirty feet must be dedicated for a roadway. Motion seconded by Mr.
Gourley. Motion carried with Mr. Shearan voting No.
The next item for discussion was the Special Use Permit granted to
WCCO on July 15, 1971. This permit was granted for a 5 year period.
Mr. Fred Memmer and Mr. Tom Doar, Attorneys for WCCO were here to
request a one year extension of this permit. Mr. Doar explained that
final hearings were in progress in Washington now and that an opinion
should be rendered by the end of this year.
Mr. Doar did not feel that WCCO could ask for more than a one year
extension stating that a year's time should allow them to know whether
permission will be granted by the various federal agencies that control
the building of radio towers. He stated that construction would take
longer, but felt that that was another matter and not related to this.
permit.
