MAY 21, 1975
-2-
Next on the agenda was Mr. Bruce Henson, owner of the Surfside Seaplane
Base with a request to park a mobile home unit at the _seaplane base to•
be used as sleeping quarters for security purposes and to house a tool
shed. Mr. Henson stated that there had been several break-ins last summer
and he felt that if someone were to stay overnight it would help reduce
the trouble they are having there. He said that it would only be a
sleeping quarter and no-one would actually be living there.
Mr. Karth asked why a home wasn't built on the property - it would only
enhance the value property and would probably reduce the breakins further
if a home were on the property.
Mr. Henson said they did not have
there as he has a home in another
mobile home in back of the hanger
the road. He wants to bring a 30
the room and he does not want to build
city. He said that he would put the
and no-one would be able to see it from
foot unit it.
Mr. Kelling asked if a Special Use Permit could be considered for 90 days
with the stipulation that it be removed at the end of 90 days.
Mr. Henson said that would cover the basic season and he would agree to
put the unit in the hanger for the winter, but he would want the permit
on an annual basis, not just for this year.
Mr. Shearan asked how sewer and water would be handled? Wouldn't this
set up require the hook up of sewer and water?
Mr. Henson said it would not be necessary as it would only be a sleeping
room.
After more discussion, Mr. Shearan moved to recommend to the Council
that this permit be denied unless Mr. Henson brought in some definite
building plans for a permanment structure. Motion seconded by Mr.
Kelling and passed.
Mr. Charles Nelson was next on the agenda to present his plan for the
road that is required in the Pine Vista Plat. He said that the bonding
companies are now requiring 150% collateral and there is no way he can
put up $30,000.00,worth of collateral at this time.
He presented an alternative plan:
Stocks & Bonds
Cash from sale of"Lots
Total to be put in Escrow
$11,000.00
10,000.00
$21,000.00
