The council met on the matter and <br /> 65 arrived at a figure of$8,660,000 for the 2011 preliminary levy. That figure would provide for <br /> 66 a decrease in taxes and is well below the state mandated levy limit. He reminded the council <br /> 67 that this preliminary figure may be decreased but cannot be increased. There will be more <br /> 68 discussion of the 2011 budget by the council and staff followed by adoption of the final budget <br /> L 69 in December. <br /> 70 <br /> 71 Council Member Roeser moved to approve Resolution No. 10-78 as presented. Council <br /> 72 Member Gallup seconded the motion. Motion adopted on a unanimous voice vote. <br /> 73 <br /> 74 2B) Consider Resolution No. 10-79 Setting 2011 Budget/Tax Levy Public Hearing Date- <br /> 75 Finance Director Rolek noted that the city is required to hold a public hearing on its proposed <br /> 76 tax levy and budget and the action before the council would set that hearing date and time. <br /> 77 <br /> 78 Council Member O'Donnell moved to approve Resolution No. 10-79 as presented. Council <br /> 79 Member Roeser seconded the motion. Motion adopted on a unanimous voice vote. <br /> 80 <br /> 81 2C) Consider Resolution No. 10-80 Canceling the 2010/11 Debt Service Tax Levy For <br /> 82 G.O. Tax Increment Financing Bond Series 2007A—Finance Director Al Rolek reported <br /> 83 that the city considers on an annual basis the need to levy for the debt service on these bonds <br /> 84 and has again determined that tax increment revenue and Municipal State Aid (MSA) funds <br /> 85 will be sufficient without a levy in 2011. The resolution before the council will cancel the <br /> 86 debt service levy. <br /> 87 <br /> 88 Council Member Gallup moved to approve Resolution No. 10-80 as presented.
