COUNCIL MINUTES July 13, 2009
APPROVED
i. Liability insurance for certain Blue Heron Days events

Economic Development Coordinator Divine reviewed the events planned for this year's Blue
Heron Days festival to be held the weekend of August 22-23, 2009. The matter of who will carry
insurance for those festival events that don't have individually insured sponsors (the parade,
medallion hunt, bike rodeo, commerce and crafts fair and ambassador's program) is before the
council. It was determined in 2008 that the city's insurance coverage through the League of
Minnesota Cities (LMC) does not exclude these activities but the LMC would expect the city to
assume the coverage by a motion.

Council Member Reinert moved to confirm the city's liability coverage as presented. Council
Member Gallup seconded the motion. Motion carried.

ii.
