COUNCIL MINUTES October 12, 2009 <br /> APPROVED <br /> 15 FINANCE DEPARTMENT REPORT,AL ROLEK <br /> 46 There was no report from the Finance Department. <br /> 47 <br /> 48 ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT, DAN TESCH <br /> 49 3A. Lease for Presbyterian Church at the Senior Center—Acting Administrator Tesch <br /> 50 reported on that the Lino Lakes Seniors have been approached by the Chain of Lakes New <br /> 51 Church Development requesting a 12-month lease to hold church services at the Senior Center. <br /> 52 A proposed lease agreement is presented for council consideration. Mr. Tesch noted that the <br /> 53 date that the lease will commence will be updated based on when the property actually becomes <br /> 54 available. <br /> 55 <br /> 56 Council Member Gallup moved that the lease, as presented, be executed. Council Member <br /> 57 O'Donnell seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br /> 58 <br /> 59 PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT, DAVE PECCHIA <br /> 60 There was no report from the Public Safety Department. <br /> 61 <br /> 62 PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT, RICK DEGARDNER <br /> 63 There was no report from the Public Services Department. <br /> 64 <br /> 65 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT REPORT, MICHAEL GROCHALA <br /> 66 6A. Lodging Tax <br /> 67 <br /> 68 i.) Consider Second Reading of Ordinance No. 07-09 Imposing <br /> 69 a Tax Upon Lodging <br /> 70 Economic Development Coordinator Divine recalled that the city has been asked to participate in <br /> 71 a new convention and visitors bureau called Minnesota Metro North Tourism that is being <br /> 72 established to promote participating cities in the Anoka and Ramsay County area. Funding for <br /> 73 this organization would come from a 3% lodging tax collected through lodging properties in <br /> 74 those communities. She pointed out that both of the hotels in Lino Lakes have submitted letters <br /> 75 requesting that the council proceed with this action. <br /> 76 <br /> 77 Council Member Gallup moved to dispense with full reading of the ordinance. Council Member <br /> 78 Reinert seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br /> 79 <br /> 80 Council Member Stoltz moved to approve the second reading of Ordinance No. 07-09 as <br /> 81 presented. Council Member O'Donnell seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken. <br /> 82 Motion carried as follows: Yeas, 5; Nays none. <br /> 83 <br /> 84 ii.) Consider Resolution No. 09-85 Summary Ordinance, Mary Alice Divine <br /> 85 Reading and roll call required <br /> 86 <br /> 87 Council Member O'Donnell moved to approve Resolution No. 09-85 as presented.
