Enivornmental Board <br />October 25, 2017 <br />Page 3 <br />APPROVED MINUTES <br />Hal Leibel 7566 Peltier Drive The tile is excising which has been recently cleaned out <br />and the water does travel north. His understanding is when the development on the east <br />side of 20th Ave happens; there will be holding ponds, so with this plan it will help with <br />the flow of the water. <br /> <br />Mr. Tuomie wanted to know when sewer and water would be in his area. <br />Ms. Hankee stated that this is a phase development and the development is starting from <br />21st Ave and heading north, so it could be 8 years out. <br /> <br />Mr. Heiskary closed the Public Hearing at 7:06 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion to close was supported by Ms. Andrzejewski seconded by Mr. Schwartz. Motion <br />carried 7 - 0. <br /> <br />6. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br />A. Wollan’s Park Wetland Bank Status Report. Jason Husveth <br /> <br />Mr. Husveth, Ecologist with Critical Connections Ecological Services, has worked <br />with the City of Lino Lakes and Mr. Asleson on Wollan’s Park since mid 2008. <br /> <br />Mr. Husveth showed drone photos of the burn, spring flooding, and the park area as <br />it was greening up after it has been worked. The city scraped the land in the winter <br />and then had a spring fire to destroy the reed carnery grass. Also used some spot <br />treatment on the reed carney grass. <br /> <br />Mr. Husveth mentioned that wetland is successful because of the work that has been <br />done, there is now a rare plant population at Wollan’s Park. <br /> <br />The board thanked Mr. Husveth <br /> <br />B. Recycling Updates <br /> <br />Mr Heiskary talked about what the great program of Saturday Recycling, becaise it <br />is always busy. <br /> <br />Simple Recycling’s contract came back from the City’s attorney and was then <br />mailed back to Mr. Paul Gardener. It will be brought before the Enivormental Board <br />again. <br /> <br />Ms. Kaufenberg and Ms. Klebba will present a free educational Recycling Session <br />on Tues, Dec 12 at 7:00pm in the Community Room. <br /> <br />Ms. Pellon talked to ACE Recycling program and you would still have to purchase a <br />organic recycling bin even if you had a yard waste bin and the cost would be $30 per <br />month
