COUNCIL MINUTES October 9, 2017 DRAFT 2 46 Approve Exempt Gambling Permit and Scholarship 47 Raffle, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Approved 48 49 FINANCE DEPARTMENT REPORT 50 51 There was no report from the Finance Department. 52 53 ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT 54 55 There was no report from the Administration Department. 56 57 PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT 58 59 4A) Consider Donation of Seized Property to Bikes for Kids - Public Safety Director Swenson 60 explained that staff is seeking to donate seven bicycles (currently in the property room). They have 61 complied with regulations on handling the equipment. The donation would serve the area by 62 providing bikes for needy kids. 63 64 Council Member Rafferty moved to approve the donation of equipment as recommended. Council 65 Member Manthey seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. 66 67 4B) Consider Hiring of Paid On-Call Firefighter- Public Safety Director Swenson reviewed his 68 recommendation for the hiring of Jesse Fronek. He is experienced in firefighting and would be 69 stationed at Lino Lakes Fire Station No. 1. 70 71 Council Member Manthey moved to approve the hiring as recommended. Council Member Rafferty 72 seconded the motion.
