CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 3B <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Karissa Henning <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: February 13, 2017 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Appointment of Part-Time Office Specialist <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />The Council is being asked to approve the appointment of Kristine Kroll for the part-time Office <br />Specialist position in the Public Services Department. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />Ms. Kroll currently works for the City as the temporary scanning operator where she has done <br />an outstanding job in this position. When Kristine expressed an interest in the Office Specialist <br />position, we decided to only post it internally. The 24-hour position was approved in the 2017 <br />budget. <br /> <br />A conditional job offer was made to Kristine Kroll. Her starting hourly rate will be $19.719, <br />which is Step 1 of her job classification in the AFSCME labor agreement. <br /> <br />If the conditional offer is approved, staff will advertise for another scanner operator to replace <br />Ms. Kroll. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Approve the appointment of Kristine Kroll as Office Specialist, effective February 21, 2017. <br /> <br />
