The <br />Contractor will be held responsible for any damages to adjacent properties <br />occurring during the construction phase of this project. <br />x In accordance with generally accepted construction practices the Contractor will <br />be solely and completely responsible for conditions on the job site including <br />safety of all persons and property during the performance of the work. This <br />requirement will apply continuously and not be limited to normal working hours. <br />x Verify horizontal location and elevation where a connection to existing <br />pavement, structure, pipe or other site feature is to be made. The Contractor <br />shall immediately notify the Engineer of any discrepancies or variations from the <br />plans. <br />x Traffic control shall be provided as necessary and shall be incidental to the <br />project. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing and maintaining <br />traffic control devices such as barricades, warning signs, directional signs, <br />flagmen and lights to control the movement of traffic where necessary. <br />Placement of these devices shall be approved by the Engineer prior to <br />placement. All traffic control devices shall conform to MN Manual on Uniform <br />Traffic Control Devices, latest edition. <br />x Adjacent streets, alleys and parking areas must be swept to deep them free of <br />tracked soil and sediment. Contractor must monitor conditions and sweep as <br />needed or within 24 hours of notice by the City. Sweeping shall be by a <br />mechanical pick-up type sweeper. <br />SITE REMOVAL NOTES <br />x The Contractor shall clear & grub as shown on plans. This includes the removal <br />of trees, brush, stumps, roots and other plant life as noted. All removals shall be <br />disposed of off-site in a manner meeting all applicable regulations. <br />x All removal items shall become the property of the Contractor unless specified <br />otherwise and shall be disposed of off-site in a manner meeting all applicable <br />regulations. <br />x The Contractor shall be responsible for the removal and replacement of all signs, <br />mailboxes, etc. <br />x Any damage to items not noted to be removed shall be the responsibility of the <br />Contractor and shall be repaired or replaced to original condition with no <br />additional compensation. <br />GRADING & EROSION CONTROL NOTES <br />x The Contractor along with the Owner shall obtain all necessary permits and <br />approvals from governing authorities, including any City permits and the <br />Watershed District permit. <br />x Install erosion control and tree protection measures before beginning site <br />grading activities. Some erosion controls such as bale checks may be installed as <br />grading occurs in specific areas.
