CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 3B <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Jeff Karlson <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: July 11, 2016 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Labor Agreement with Local No. 49 <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />We have reached a tentative two-year agreement with Local No. 49 for 2016 and 2017. After <br />several negotiation meetings, the two sides have agreed to the following terms: <br /> <br />1. WAGES: 2.5 percent wage increase retroactive to January 1, 2016, and 2.5 percent wage <br />increase, effective January 1, 2017. The boiler maintenance stipend increases from $35 to <br />$40 per week. <br /> <br />2. HEALTH INSURANCE: Article 16.1 revised to read: <br />a) Effective January 1, 2016, Employer will contribute $444.61 toward the monthly <br />premium for single coverage and $1,010.89 toward the monthly premium for family <br />coverage. <br />b) Effective January 1, 2017, Employer will contribute 100% of the base single plan and <br />$1,010.89 plus 50% of the 2017 premium increase toward the family plan. <br />c) The Employer’s contributions toward the Health Savings Accounts and the cash <br />option for waiving coverage are the same. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Authorize execution of 2016-2017 labor agreement between the City of Lino Lakes and Local <br />No. 49.
