COUNCIL MINUTES March 12, 2018 <br />APPROVED <br />46 Consider approval of Advisory Board Appointments Approved <br />47 <br />48 FINANCE DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />49 <br />50 There was no report from the Finance Department, <br />51 <br />52 ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />53 <br />54 3A) Consider Temporary Increase of Office Specialist Hours — Human Resources Manager <br />55 Barthlomew reviewed the written report. Staff is recommending an increase in the hours for this <br />56 position based on a vacancy and related increased work load in the department. There would be no <br />57 budgetary impact because of the vacancy. <br />58 <br />59 Council Member Maher asked if the hourly rate of pay would change and Ms. Barthlomew said there <br />60 would be no wage adjustment based on this action. <br />61 <br />62 Council Member Rafferty received information on the impact to benefits. <br />63 <br />64 Council Member Rafferty moved to approve the temporary increase of hours for the Office Special <br />65 position as recommended. Council Member Maher seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice <br />66 vote. <br />67 <br />68 PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />69 <br />70 4A) Consider Hiring of Police Officer — Public Safety Director Swenson reviewed his written <br />71 report recommending that the council approve the hiring of one police officer. Based on an extensive <br />72 interview and review process, staff is recommending hiring Austin Reihm for this vacant position. <br />73 The department remains within their approved budget. <br />74 <br />75 Council Member Manthey moved to approve the hiring of Austin Reihm as recommended. Council <br />76 Member Stoesz seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />77 <br />78 PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />79 <br />80 There was no report from the Public Services Department. <br />81 <br />82 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />83 <br />84 6A) Consider Resolution No. 1&24 Ordering the Project, Approving the Plans & <br />85 Specifications and Authorizing the Ad for Bid, 2018 Mill and Overlay Project — City Engineer <br />86 Hankee reviewed the written report. Staff is recommending authorization for certain actions relative <br />87 to the 2018 Mill and Overlay Project. Ms. Hankee reviewed the criteria for ranking streets to be <br />88 included in the program and the roadways that will be included in this year's project. She reviewed <br />89 the project schedule culminating in the project work in August/September. <br />90 <br />2 <br />
