CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 1E <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIG INATOR: Chief John Swenson <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: January 14 , 2013 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Contact for Services between the Centennial School District & <br />Lino Lakes Police Department for a Youth Resource Officer <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3 /5 <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />The LLPD has provi ded a police officer to serve as a Youth Resource Officer at the Centennial <br />Middle School based on terms outlined in the attached contract for service agreement. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The LLPD has provides licensed police officer to serve as a Youth Resource Officer at <br />Centennial Middle School . The Youth Resource Officer will provide public safety assistance <br />to students and staff, provide an opportunity for positive interacti on between community youth <br />and law enforcement , and ens ure site security at the school. The Cente nnial School District <br />reimburses the LLPD for cost ass ociated with this position as outlined in the attached contract. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff recommends the Council approval of the 2012/13 contract for Youth Res ource Officer <br />between the LLPD and the Centennial School District. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />2012/13 Youth Resource Officer Contract
