Enivornmental Board <br />January 31, 2018 <br />Page 3 <br />Mr. Schwartz made a MOTION to forward Natures Refuge/Preliminary Plat and Site <br />Plan Review with the Environmental Board's statement and recommendations. Ms. <br />Andrzejewski supported the motion. Motion carried 6 - 0. <br />B. Environmental Board Goals <br />There was brief discussion about number two which stated, assisting Anoka County to <br />ensure business recycling within the City as mandated. <br />Questions were raised as to what if any business were participating in the program. <br />Ms. Andrzejewski made a MOTION to approve the 2018 Environmental Board Goals. <br />Ms. Kaufenberg supported motion. Motion carried 6 - 0. <br />VII DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />A. Recycling Updates <br />Ms. Schultz reporting on the following; <br />Recycling Saturday had about 35 participants mostly large items and appliances. <br />Walter's Blue Bag program, December's results had 27 participates with .31 tons of <br />organics. <br />2017 tonnage for the city was 1959.99 tons of co -mingle. And organics second half was <br />7.33 and had 135.66 yard waste. <br />Ms. Schultz will find out what is the recycling goal for 2018. <br />B. Blue Heron Rookery <br />Mr. Aselson wanted to thank the volunteers that came out to apply sheating to the trees <br />on the island. <br />VIII. ADJOURNMENT <br />Ms. Andrzejewski made a MOTION to adjourn the meeting at 8:15 p.m. Motion was <br />supported by Ms. Kaufenberg.
