COUNCIL MINUTES <br />July 23, 2018 <br />APPROVED <br />1 CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />2 MINUTES <br />3 <br />4 DATE July 23, 2018 <br />5 TIME STARTED 6:30 p.m. <br />6 TIME ENDED 7:30 p.m. <br />7 MEMBERS PRESENT Council Member Rafferty, Maher, <br />8 Manthey, Stoesz and Mayor Reinert <br />9 MEMBERS ABSENT <br />10 <br />1 I Staff members present: City Administrator Jeff Karlson; Community Development Director Michael <br />12 Grochala; Director of Finance Sarah Cotton; City Engineer Diane Hankee; Director of Public Safety <br />13 John Swenson; City Planner Katie Larsen; and City Clerk Julie Bartell <br />14 <br />15 PUBLIC COMMENT <br />16 <br />17 Garret Graczyk, 886 Fox Road, explained that he is seeking a change in city ordinance to allow <br />18 chickens on his (parents) property. The chickens are already present and he is maintaining them well. <br />19 Mayor Reinert explained some city history regarding allowing chickens; enforcement has generally <br />20 been complaint based: City Planner Larsen added that the City did receive a complaint in this case. <br />21 Council Member Maher recalled that she addressed the council as a resident on the matter of allowing <br />22 chickens several years ago; she's still interested in the matter. Council Member Manthey advised the <br />23 speakers that they should be proactive and seek ways to change the ordinance, including speaking to <br />24 neighbors; if they believe in a change, they'll have to work toward it. <br />25 <br />26 SETTING THE AGENDA <br />27 <br />28 The agenda was approved as presented. <br />29 <br />30 CONSENT AGENDA <br />31 <br />32 Council Member Rafferty moved to approve the Consent Agenda, Items 1 A through 1 E, as presented. <br />33 Council Member Maher seconded the motion.
