Sign Ordinance <br />Mayor Reinert indicated that discussion of this item would be <br />17- <br />postponed since the council has a heavy agenda to review in an abbreviated session. <br />18 <br />19 <br />2. Review Regular Council Agenda of August 26, 2013 <br />20- <br />21 <br />Consent Agenda, Item 1B <br />Council Member Stoesz asked that the Minutes be corrected <br />22- <br />to indicated that there was a direction/action regarding the reporting of fleet management <br />23 <br />data. <br />24 <br />25 <br />Item 3A, Part-time Scanner Position <br />Administrator Karlson reviewed the requested to <br />26- <br />hire a part-time scanner operator to assist with the electronic records project. Progress is <br />27 <br />being made on the project and he recommends bringing in this part time position for <br />28 <br />scanning.Council Member Stoesz asked if hiring two people would make the project go <br />29 <br />twice as fast? Administrator Karlson responded that he will check on that possibility. <br />30 <br />31 <br />Item 4A, Firearms Ordinance Amendment <br />-Police Chief Swenson reported that the <br />32 <br />ordinance will make a change to the city code as requested by the council. The change <br />33 <br />will allow for bow hunting in the area of the city where that was previously prohibited, in <br />34 <br />an attempt to manage deer populations and deer related accidents. The other piece of the <br />35 <br />deer management direction, a contract with a bowhunters group for a managed hunt, will <br />36 <br />be coming forward for council consideration soon. <br />37 <br />38 <br />Item 5A, Street Maintenance Position <br />Public Services Director DeGardner explained <br />39- <br />that this vacancy created by a recent retirementwas discussed at the last council work <br />40 <br />session. He recommends that this position be filled to bring the department back to <br />41 <br />budgeted strength. Mayor Reinert remarked that he understands that this position is <br />42 <br />needed; he supports filling it while the council continues to look for efficiencies within <br />43 <br />that department. <br />44 <br />45 <br />1 <br /> <br />
