Motion carried on a unanimous voice vote. <br />99 <br />100 <br />PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />101 <br />102 <br />st <br />4A) Consider 1Reading of Ordinance No. 10-13, Amending Section 504.02 of the Lino Lakes <br />103 <br />Code of Ordinances, relating to Firearms, allowing bow hunting in certain areas of the city <br />– <br />104 <br />Police Chief Swenson explained that this ordinance comes from an on-going discussion about deer <br />105 <br />management in the city. As recommended by the council, this ordinance will open up archery deer <br />106 <br />hunting in an area of the city where it was previously restricted. <br />107 <br />108 <br />Council Member Roeser asked if the Police Department has received any public comment about the <br />109 <br />change and the Chief said no and added that the department included resident contactwithinthe <br />110 <br />impacted area when the regulations were being researched. The residents seem to indicate that the <br />111 <br />regulations in the vicinity had more to do withfirearms than bow and arrow; restrictions on the use of <br />112 <br />firearms will still apply. <br />113 <br />114 <br />st <br />Council Member O’Donnell moved to approve 1Reading of Ordinance No. 10-13 as presented. <br />115 <br />Council Member Roeser seconded the motion. Motion carried on a unanimous voice vote. <br />116 <br />117 <br />PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />118 <br />119 <br />5A) Consider Authorizing Replacement of Streets Maintenance Position <br />–Public Services <br />120 <br />Director DeGardnerexplained the requestto replace this position left vacantby a recent retirement. <br />121 <br />He recommends replacement in order to bring the staff of the department up to the budgeted level of <br />122 <br />six FTE. <br />123 <br />124 <br />Council Member Rafferty moved to authorize replacement of the Streets Maintenance position as <br />125 <br />requested. Council Member Roeser seconded the motion.
