Enivonmental Board <br />August 1, 2018 <br />Page 3 <br />DRAFT MINUTES <br /> Ms. Kaufenberg made a motion to approve the concept plan. Mr. Schwartz <br /> supported the motion. Motion carried 5 – 0. <br /> <br />VI. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br /> A. Field Visit/ Saddle Club <br /> <br /> The group had postive remarks about the development in reguards to the native <br /> planting area and swale area. <br /> <br /> Ms. Kaufenberg was wondering when would the Foxborough cul-d-sac and Fox <br /> Road be connected. <br /> <br /> Mr. Asleson replied that connection is still being looked at. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sullivan mentioned that there was not a lot of alternatives grasses in this <br /> development. <br /> <br /> One of the Environmental Board goals is to look at past projects and the board <br /> would like to visit this development again. <br /> <br />B. Recycling Updates <br /> <br />There are currently 19 individuals that have signed up for the Walters Blue Bag <br />Curbside Organic program. <br /> <br /> There are currently 255 residents doing the organic drop-offs. <br /> <br /> Simple Recycling will start July 12 and they will take residental curbside <br /> collection of usable and non-usable texile/clothing. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sullivan questioned why was Simple Recycling not collecting electronics. <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson stated that there were thoughts that it may compete with Saturday <br />recycling day. <br /> <br />Fix-It Clinic will be Saturday, August 4 from 10am – 1pm at the Lino Lakes <br />Senior Center. Mr. Sullivan and Ms. Klebba will be volunteering to help check in <br />the people that need repairs. <br /> <br />Residential Recycling from January to June was 625 tons of curbside recycling <br />material collected. Thirteen tons of yard waste and orgainics collected. <br />Recycling Saturday yeild 54 tons and Annual Recycling was 22 tons. There was <br />600 pounds of aluminum cans collected from Fire Station 2 and from that a check <br />for $383 was donated to Lino Lakes City parks. <br />
