<br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6B <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee, City Engineer <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: August 13, 2018 <br /> <br />TOPIC : Consider Resolution No. 18-100, Approving Change Order No. 1, <br />2017 Trail Maintenance Project, Diane Hankee <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting council action to approve Change Order No. 1 for the 2017 Trail <br />Maintenance Project. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The 2017 Trail Maintenance Project included the removal and replacement of a portion of the <br />Birch Street pedestrian trail and the construction of a new pedestrian trail in the Century Farms <br />development. <br /> <br />The construction of the Birch Street trail portion of the contract was substantially completed in <br />October of 2017. Construction of the Century Farms portion of the contract began in June of <br />this year. While soil correction was anticipated along the westerly end of the trail, additional <br />stabilization is required to ensure proper compaction and an approved subgrade. Also included in <br />the change order are concrete sidewalk extensions from the new trail to existing townhome <br />sidewalks and curb removal and replacement at the east end of the trail to accommodate a <br />pedestrian ramp. <br /> <br />Change Order No. 1 is in the amount of $11,736.00. This project is funded through the annual <br />trail maintenance budget and park dedication. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Consider Resolution 18-100 Approving Change Order No. 1 for the 2017 Trail Maintenance <br />Project. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />1.
