CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 3C <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Jeff Karlson <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: November 13, 2018 <br /> <br />TOPIC: 2018-2019 Labor Agreement with LELS, Local 299 <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Following arbitration and the arbitrator’s award, we have reached a two-year agreement with <br />LELS Local No. 299 for 2018 and 2019. The union accepted the following terms: <br /> <br />1. Wages: 2.75 percent wage increase retroactive to January 1, 2018, and 2.5 percent wage <br />increase, effective January 1, 2019. <br /> <br />2. Health Insurance: Article 19.1 revised to read: <br />a) Effective January 1, 2018, Employer will contribute $566.73 toward the monthly <br />premium for single coverage and $1,182.26 toward the monthly premium for family <br />coverage. <br />b) Effective January 1, 2019, Employer will contribute 100% of the base single plan <br />and $1,182.26 plus 50% of the 2019 premium increase toward the family plan. <br />c) The Employer’s contributions toward the Health Savings Accounts and the cash <br />option for waiving coverage are the same. <br /> <br />3. Funeral Leave: Same as City’s personnel policy. <br /> <br />4. Clothing Allowance: The annual clothing allowance will be equal to the annual wage <br />adjustment (i.e. 2018: $780 x 2.75% = $801.45). <br /> <br />5. Firefighter Stipend: Increases to $1.40 per hour in 2018 and $1.44 in 2019. Thereafter, <br />increases will be equivalent to the annual wage increase. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Authorize execution of 2018-2019 labor agreement between the City of Lino Lakes and LELS <br />Local No. 299. <br /> <br /> <br />
