This <br />option may not require easement for the 3 adjacent properties however, it would <br />require property acquisition for ponding. The ponding location would need to be <br />identified. A preliminary cost review of this option showed it to be higher in cost <br />due to the added infrastructure and land acquisition needs. <br /> <br />2. Installing the trail along the west side of 12th Avenue, and installing crosswalks to <br />connect to existing trail segments. This option is not recommended due to the <br />safety concern with two roadway crossings. In addition, this option would result <br />in wetland fill and land acquisition due to the existing grades. A preliminary cost <br />review of this option showed it to be higher in cost due to the purchase of wetland <br />credits and earthwork required to construct the trail. <br /> <br />The estimated total project cost including easement acquisition from 3 properties is <br />$198,000. Staff recommends the Council consider funding for this project during the <br />2020 budget discussions. <br /> <br />Requested Council Direction <br /> <br />None at this time.
