ORDINANCE NO. 14 <br />THE VILLAGE OF LINO LAKES <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR <br />THE VILLAGE OF LINO LAKES, MAKING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE GOVERNMENT <br />OF THE SAME. <br />The Council of the Village of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, does ordain as <br />+oilows: <br />SECTION 1 <br />There is hereby established in the Village of Lino Lakes a volunteer <br />police department consisting of a chief end such other police officers as <br />nay be deemed necessary. <br />SECTION 2. <br />The officers of the police department shall be appointed by the village <br />:ouncil on the recommendation of the chief of police. Any officer may be <br />removed by the council at its discretion. <br />:SECT I ON 3. <br />The police chief shall have control over the department. He shall <br />report to the council at tis regular meetings as to the needs of the <br />4spnrtment and work performed by the members of the department. He shall <br />Le responsible for the proper training and discipline of the members of the <br />police department and may suspend any member for refusal or neglect to obey <br />orders pending final action by the council on his discharge or retention. <br />'FCT I ON 4. <br />The members of the police department shall enforce the ordinances and <br />statutes applicable to the village bring violators before the justice of <br />rice of said village, and make complaints against such person or persons <br />offenses committed coming to their knowledge. The members of the police <br />rpartment shall serve processes on behalf of said village and shall serve <br />!7,,Jch notices as may from time to time be required by the council.. Said <br />Gfficers shall be entitled to the same fees as provided by the general statutes <br />;or conttabies for the said village, and all such fees shall be paid to the <br />v`Rtage treasurer of said village. <br />
